Cycling equipment consists of a bike and protective gear
The history of cycling started in 1817 when Baron von Drais of Baden invented the first bicycle though he called it a “running machine” to help him move around more quickly. Subsequent years from then many craftsman invented 2, 3, 0r 4 wheeled vehicles powered by human energy. Many improvement s came after such as increased front wheel diameter to allow greater speed, new technology to make the bicycle safer were made on the gears, brakes, and wheels. Bicycles since then had a huge impact on society. Cycling opened up new ways for people in the nineteenth century by allowing travel beyond the home to throughout the community. This bicycle development provided us with one of the first forms of competitive sporting.
Once the cycle started to be perfected cycling equipment was needed for safety. The most important piece of cycling equipment is the helmet. A helmet should be fitted to you head and can help prevent serious head injury in the event of an accident. A helmet is invented to protect your forehead and should be placed exactly with only a two finger gap between your eyebrows and the front of the helmet. It is also recommended that you replace your helmet every two to three years by any manufacturer. For competitors some more advanced cycling equipment are protective sports eyewear. These designed sports glasses are made to help wind, bugs, dust, and airborne debris from your eyes.
There are also many other different forms of cycling equipment depending on if you will be on road or off road as well as different helpful equipment depending on the season you will be cycling in. Some of this equipment may include shoes, gloves, clothes, heart rate monitors, water bottles, and clothes for every season. Any and all cycling equipment is invented to perfect safety, comfort, and speed and anyone should be educated in them prior to use to prevent accidents.
