The Jacksonville Jaguars and their Beginning
Jacksonville Jaguars are a professionally trained football team in America and are located in Jacksonville, Florida. They are presently members of the Southern Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Jaguars became a part of the NFL as an expansion team in 1995 alongside of the Carolina Panthers.

Every year the city of Jacksonville hosts the Gator Bowl which is an annual civic event. Parties, ceremonies, parades and other events are also provided leading up to the Gator Bowl game. In addition, the annual Georgia-Florida game is played in Jacksonville as well.

Jacksonville Jaguars History in the Making
The Jacksonville Jaguars appeared to be a team on the rise coming off of their 12-4 season, and was considered a playoff competitor entering the season. This was a real exciting time for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team suffered a bit of a set back due to several team members having season-ending injuries, however the team shortly bounced back.

The Jacksonville Jaguars started off 2-0, defeating the Dallas Cowboys earning the NFL's utmost winning percentage on opening days at .750 with a record of 9-3), and shut out the defending champs Pittsburgh Steelers.

Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jaguars' second round draft pick, was one of the most surprising rookie sensations. He averaged 5.7 yards a carry which was the highest in the league, and tied for 3rd in the NFL with 16 touchdowns.

On April 28, 2007, the Jacksonville Jaguars used their first-round pick (21st overall) on Florida safety Reggie Nelson, subsequent to passing on Notre Dame Quarterback Brady Quinn two times.

On August 31, 2007, the Jaguars broadcasted that their long time back-up QB David Garrard would start for the team. He would go ahead of their former 1st round draft pick, Byron Leftwich.
