The Four-time Winston Cup Champion, Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon is probably one of the most successful drivers to ever be in the NASCAR races and proof positive of this is his outstanding performances in the different divisions of NASCAR. Born Jeffrey Michael Gordon, Jeff Gordon is a 36 year old professional race car driver who hails from Pittsboro, Indiana but was born in the city of Vallejo in California. Jeff Gordon sits behind the wheel of the #24 Chevy Monte Carlo and is sponsored by DuPont as well as by Quaker State, GMAC and Bosch Spark Plugs, to name a few.

Like most race car drivers his age, Jeff Gordon began his racing career at the early age of five with the use of quarter midgets. This was the reason why his family moved from California to Indiana so that Jeff can pursue his racing career. Jeff Gordon was a successful race car driver even at an early age with a number of short track race awards to his name and a rookie of the year award before he was even 18. He then went on to compete in the Busch Series by 1991 under the Bill Davis Racing team and raced for them for 2 years.

To date, Jeff Gordon has 81 wins and 317 top tens for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and 5 wins as well as 32 top tens for the Busch Series. He holds four Winston Cup Champion titles for the years 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001. He also has a Rookie of the Year Award for his 1993 stint on the Winston Cup Series as well. Jeff Gordon has enjoyed quite a ride with his racing career, with an estimated $89 million in earnings for his career from 1993 up to the present. In 2007, Gordon placed second in the Nextel Cup and was said to have earned $7 million for the year.
