Learn About the Importance of Wearing Sports Bras
Sports Bras and their Origin
The origin of sports bras dates back to 1977. The inventors of the sports bra cut up a pair of jockstraps and sewed the straps together creating the bra. In the beginning, it was placed on the market as a Job bra.
Sports bras offer firm support for the breasts. They are to be worn during vigorous and forceful exercise to prevent discomfort to the breast. Sports bras are generally sturdier than standard bras and they offer better support to the chest area. Comfort is increased and the chance of damage to the ligaments of the chest area during vigorous exercise such as jogging or aerobic exercise is decreased.
Design of Sports Bras
There are various designs for sports bras. Some designs consist of gel and water pads, silver fibers, and air bags. Some sports bras are knitted in circular patters to provide flexible stretch and support. Some sports bras are stitch less. Overall, the common characteristic of most sports bras is that they are stretchable.
Many women especially those with larger breast agree that sports bras are very supportive in alleviating pain and embarrassment which would many times prevent them from participating in various sports. But wearing a sports bra gives the confidence and comfort needed to participate in desired sports.
