The Different Stadiums Used by the Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are a team that plays in the state of Georgia, and it is based in the city of Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves baseball team has been playing for the city it represents from the year 1966 up to the present, and it is a team that has been around since 1871. This team got the name Atlanta Braves after it moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the year 1966, and it has since been playing in the County Stadium of Atlanta-Fulton until 1997 when it moved to the Turner Field.

The Atlanta Braves have used numerous stadiums as home grounds before they got to Turner Field in 1997. This was due to the fact that the team was sold and transferred a few times in the past to different owners as well as different cities and states before they became the baseball team of Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Braves used to be called the Milwaukee Braves before they moved to their present home, and they played in the Milwaukee County Stadium in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1953 until 1965. Prior to that move, they were called the Boston Braves and played in the Braves Field from the year 1915 until a year before their move to the Milwaukee stadium in 1952.

The Atlanta Braves also held different names while in Boston before the Braves name became a fixture for the team. Before they became the Braves in Boston, they were called the Rustlers. The other names that the team held while they were in Massachusetts were the Boston Red Stockings, Boston Beaneaters and the Boston Doves. Along with such name changes were stadium changes as well. The team saw itself being moved from the South End Grounds to the Congress Street Grounds and to Fenway Park before it ended up in the Braves Field.
