Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a second generation NASCAR racer, following closely in the footsteps of his late father, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Born in October 10, 1974, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a 33 year old professional race car driver who is behind the #33 Chevrolet Impala that is sponsored by Mountain Dew, National Guard and AMP Energy Drink. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also drives a number 5 car every now and then for his own JR Motor Sports team, a team that competes in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Born in North Carolina, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of the most famous NASCAR drivers around and proof of this is his numerous awards for just such a thing. He was voted the most popular driver in NASCAR for five consecutive years starting 2003 until 2007. Dale Earnhardt Jr. one of the most popular NASCAR drivers around, and he is also one of the very best, with 17 wins to his credit and 121 top ten positions for his career. While he began racing a bit late compared to his peers, starting at 17, he quickly made himself a household name by competing and winning a lot of his races from that point on.

Feeling that he can do better with another racing team, he left his father's management team and signed up with Hendrick Motorsports. He will be driving under the Hendrick banner for the next five years, as his contract states, and hopes that he will get the Nextel Cup Championship title he wants while with the group.
