Kasey Kahne is the man behind the wheel of the #9 car that sports the logos of Budweiser and the Allstate Corporation. Kasey Kahne drives his Dodge Charger in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series for the Gillett Evernham Motorsports team and ranked 19th in the recent 2007 Nextel Cup Series. Kasey Kahne also drives the same vehicle for the NASCAR Busch Series and ranked 27th in the 2007 Series. He has a rather similar record of wins and top tens for both series, with 7 wins and 47 top tens for the Busch Series and 7 wins and 48 top tens for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.
Kasey Kahne is a professional race car driver that was born in Washington in 1980 and began his race car driving career at the age of 17 in Washington. He then joined USAC and in 2000 won the National Midget Championship of USAC. Kasey Kahne also won a Rookie of the Year award from the same racing club during his first year with them and won the same award in 2004, this time for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.
Kasey Kahne began his Nextel Cup career when he took the place of Bill Elliot in 2003 when the latter announced that he was going to be driving only part time the following year. Since Kasey Kahne was still under the canopy of the Ford Company due to a contract he had with them for the Busch Series, he was sued by the company he left behind for the chance to drive the #9 Dodge of Evernham Motorsports. While the move was pretty controversial, with Kahne paying off Ford to have him stay with his new team, he showed up pretty well in the races and even finished second in a few ones. His best Nextel Cup position to date is 8th place for the 2006 series.
