The Indy, Sprint and Stock Car Champ that is Tony Stewart

Tony Stewart is another one of the few professional race car drivers who has a lot of different race titles to his name. Some of the races that Tony Stewart is involved in or was involved in include Indy Car racing, Stock Car racing and Sprint racing. These are very different types of races but all share one thing in common, they all are races that Tony Stewart has awards from.

Tony Stewart has raced in the open wheel category and has been seen behind the wheel of a sprint car, a quarter midget and go karts. He, in fact, grew up with racing as his passion and excelled in it by winning his first championship in 1987 when he bagged the 1987 World Karting Championship title. He then proceeded to race using quarter midgets and succeeded in that field too with a Rookie of the Year award for quarter midget racing in 1991 and then the National Champ title in 1994. Tony Stewart also raced Sprint cars and won championship awards in that area too.

His debut and introduction to stock car racing came in the form of the Busch Series. While Tony Stewart did not fare too well with his Busch Series tries, he fared pretty well when it came to the Nextel or Winston Cup Series, earning himself two titles for his efforts. He also got a Rookie of the Year award from NASCAR in 1999 and was twice named IRL champion in two succeeding years. Tony Stewart is also a recipient of a couple of Allstate 400 at the Brickyard wins, one in 2005 and another in 2007. He has also been inducted into the Quarter Midget Hall of Fame and has a 2006 IROC championship title bestowed upon him. These are some of the awards that Stewart has to his name and at 36; he is bound to get more in the future.
