About the Toronto Blue Jays

The Canadian team called the Toronto Blue Jays hails from Toronto, Ontario, and it is a baseball team that is part of the Eastern Division of the American League. This team's name, the Toronto Blue Jays, comes from the bird that holds the same name. This bird that gave the Toronto Blue Jays their team name is native to the North American continent and it is part of the crow family. The blue jay is an omnivore, meaning it eats both plants as well as animals for sustenance.

The baseball team that is the Toronto Blue Jays uses the bird as its cap insignia, and a picture of the bird is used as the team logo, bearing the word "Jay". This logo and the insignia are both made in a blue, black, gray and white color scheme, and they can be seen on caps and uniforms that the Toronto Blue Jays wear during their games. This logo and insignia were revamped from the original ones that were used by the team until 2004 which had the colors red, white and two shades of blue. The team is also nicknamed the "Jays", which is why the ball club logo only carries the word "Jays" instead of the complete "Blue Jays".

The Toronto Blue Jays used to play in the Exhibition Stadium but they moved to the Rogers Center in the year 1989. The team is composed of a very competitive group of players who have won numerous titles in the past, including a couple of World Series titles. The Toronto Blue Jays have won five East Division Titles and two American League pennants. These two pennant wins were the same wins that gave them the chance to prove themselves in the World Series, and they became world champions in the years 1992 and 1993.
